I have one. It is easy to install, you just have to remove the rear handle for the passenger. You should know that is all metal, and therefore relatively heavy. I put a top case Shad but I'll use vacuum to put the tent and luggage when I go camping.

  did you need to drill any holes in the rear fairing

I have the Givi set-up and I found no need to drill, unless you going to carry heavy things in the top-box.
So far have carried tools in top-box and had no problem.

the original suzuki carrier costs in Austria € 245, way too expensive.
I have the givi carrier mounted, costs 80 euros in Austria.
I drilled a hole. comes with template quite easily.
the carrier is now quite stable, I'll just dog for a short stretch with my.
on the image even with my scooter.
givi Maxia 55 I have specially converted for our dog.
the dog is a little english terrier with 8 kg.
i have the v strom also therefore sold because the exhaust was mounted high above.
the little dog was thus the noise and the exhaust fumes exposed.
now we are all happy - my wife, my dog and me.

Hello Gary,

I Did'nt need to drill any holes in the rear fairing 
You collect the existing screws on the suzuki and you install your carrier.
Otherwise this support has handgrips for passenger : convenient and comfortable, my wife likes it...
