    Drilling the rear fairing isn't as difficult as it sounds.

    Not sure how essential that extra mount is, but whichever rack, it has to spread the load more evenly  :002:

    Hello Gary,

    I Did'nt need to drill any holes in the rear fairing  :047:
    You collect the existing screws on the suzuki and you install your carrier.
    Otherwise this support has handgrips for passenger : convenient and comfortable, my wife likes it... :020:

    from the instructions, it appears there's a bolt, washer, spacer that are used for the mount that will go into a hole you drill in the rear casing.  there's no included washer... does the bolt screw into something metal inside the rear casing?  i haven't removed the rear casing yet

    There's a captive nut on the subframe.

    fwiw: I found it easier to remove the panel to drill it. You can see how it will all assemble, before you  start drilling, which is reassuring  :002:
