    5000 Klm service

How critical is the 5000 klm service?

I bought my Zuma a couple of weeks ago ... here's the history on the bike (as far as I know)
Originally bought new from a shop / dealer in August 2014 - first service was done September 2014
The buyer traded in / up for a new bike with the same dealer after 2500 - 3000 klms (aprox)
The dealer sold the bike again in August 2015
I purchased the bike in March 2016 from 2nd owner with just under 6000 klms on the clock.
The bike now has almost 6500 klms on the clock and I just found out that the previous owner did not service it after purchasing it in August 2015 (they had it 6 - 7 months).
The bike seems to be running (and stopping) fine and the oil level is ok.

Should I have a sense of urgency to get the bike serviced now?
Is it something I can leave until I hit 10000 klms?

Your thoughts and feedback would be greatly appreciated  :020:
    Cheers guys  :164:

Personally I'd get it done asap, as you don't know how the last owners treated/rode it.
I'd call that peace of mind, priceless.

:0461: with Pat on this one first thing I would do is drain oil out could still have running in oil in the engine?
I am a stickler for regular servicing and oil changes.

Running in oil should have been drained at the first service, but with no record since, I'd change the oil and filter as soon as possible.

It doesn't cost much and takes any worry out over whether it's been done or not.  :002:

As much as I want to go and ride, i'll wait until I at least do an oil and oil filter change.

Thanks for your feedback everyone ... much appreciated  :028:

Tyres and brakes passed the roadworthy when I bought the bike so I guess they're fine
Will definitely be doing oil and filter as soon as I get the chance ... hopefully before the weekend
