just to say hi, l am looking to get this bike at the end of the month. I have a couple of questions, how much should the service costs be.... and what should l be looking for... to haggle.  Any advice will be much appreciated.

Try to get the first (600 mile) service included in the deal, or at least discounted.

Service interval is 3,000 mile, which can work out  a little pricey, as according to the book, the valves need checking every service.
It's not difficult, if you want to do it yourself

Personally, the price of the bike was low enough that it doesn't make sense to pay someone to do the servicing for me so I do it all myself. I'm not a mechanic and it is really quite easy, it'd be even easier if my grease gun didn't always play up. But it's an excuse to buy a better grease gun

It's a great little bike and either way, you'll love oening one.

To add to what the others have said, the cost of servicing seems to vary quite a lot depending on the local labour rate, and as Suzuki don't have fixed price service costs it's difficult to give accurate prices. Also some dealers are happy not to stick to the official service requirements, especially regarding valve clearance checks. My local dealer does an annual service, oil + filter + inspection + lubrication + cleaning the bike, for around £120 where as including a valve check takes it to just over £200 (from memory) and is adamant that, after the initial 600 mile check, they haven't needed to adjust valve clearances below 10,000 miles or more ( I only do 2-3000 miles a year). What sort of mileage do you think you'll be clocking up in a year?

If you're looking at buying a new bike there seems to be plenty of room to haggle over prices, especially if you can find one already in stock at a dealer...I've seen them advertised at £2700/£2800 for an unfaired Inazuma!

thanks for the replies. its 2995 for the bike, but l am looking to put heated grips, center stand,maybe a wind screen and crash bars.... it can be slippy in the winter, although I've never had them before, they might be worth it in the long run.

Hi from down under, and welcome to the world of zuma.I'm not sure of the cost of a service,but you should see if they will do a discount on the first one when you buy the bike,also try them with a few accessories like a centre stand or screen,maybe a discount on some gear if you need it.Ask them what they can do for you,for you to buy the bike off them.                 Be cool,Ride safe

Got all of those fitted, the centre stand can be a bit vicious though if your sat on the bike when you push her off, still got the scar 
I am now looking at those hand guards .

cheers guys, my commute is not far. I think over the last couple of years lve done 8000 miles in total. freezing today though.
