    Single seat registration

Prior to signing the registration papers I opted for single seat registration.  This entailed the dealer removing the rear pegs and certifying what they had done. This pretty much halves the yearly registration fee.  I have no intention of having a passenger but still have the pegs if I sell the bike in the future.

The only similarity here is with insurance.
But agreeing to no pillion's, only saves a few £ from the premium.
There's no requirement to remove pillion pegs etc

Our vehicle rego includes a compulsory 3rd Party insurance fee for other people you injure in an accident. Having a pillion doubles the 3rd Party and takes the rego just over $400. Single seat is about half.

I've never heard of that before, but I'll be carrying passengers so it wouldn't be of interest to me anyway. Good idea though.

interesting. i may look into this. i will more then likely never have a pillion... its registered as a 2 seater atm but i may look into how i can change that. it will be a year before i can carry a pillion anyway..
