Breaking in service
« on: October 29, 2014, 02:35:46 PM »
So now that winter is here, I've got 980km on my new Black Zuma.  Its time for the first service. However since its time to put away anyday now. Do i wait till the spring and service it or service it now and store it in the garage?  Need everyones advice here please. I live in Canada and the daily high is around 10 - 14 C now.  Went out today it was damn cold.  When do you know its time to put the bike away?

Personally, I'd service it now. Any contaminants in the oil, won't be left to do any damage over the winter.

I put the bike away, if there's ice on the road - that's my marker  :002:

I agree with Rob put her to bed with clean oil bud.

Serviced, cleaned, prepped with something like GT85 and stored with a full tank of fuel, not stupid full, but as full as you are comfortable with. That's what I would do if I was ever to put the bike away for a period of time.

OK, just got the bike back from her first service. She's all checked out and lubricated.  Cost me a pretty $223 canadian  :003: So just gotta get me some stabilizer and put her to bed for the winter.  Is there anything else i need to do, is the chain lube from the shop good enough for the winter? I do have a centre stand to prop her up  :001:
