To buy or not to buy...

I have found a deal too good to pass up and am thinking of buying another bike... your probably thinking it will be bigger then the Inazuma but you'd be wrong. The bike I'm eyeing up is the 2014 CBR125 and a little while ago I never knew it existed. I read that 250cc were the smallest street bikes in the USA and that's still true but here in Canada Honda decided to grace us with a 125cc model. It looks identical to the CBR250/300. It has half the horse power, a third the torque and a bit lighter then our Inazuma but somehow the performance is almost identical. Top speed is similar and acceleration is only a bit slower then after 100kph. Now I won't be trading in the Inazuma anytime soon but for only $2000 I am have troubles justifying why NOT to buy it or say 12 of them and build a small track. I have heard of a place in the states that lets you rent a 250 Ninja to race for $200 a day. The track and bikes could double as training grounds for new riders. A track is completely a pipe dream at this point but if I can find a dealer who has or can order the CBR125 then I think I will get at least one!

A business opportunity is one thing, but the Inazuma will do everything a 125 will - probably better

CBRs in general are built for boy racers.

The state I live in rego is cheaper the smaller the bike. Something like 100-225cc, 226-725cc, 726-1025cc, over 1025cc so the CBR125 would be aimed at 17-18y/o boys who just want something cheap and as fast as they can afford (at least over here).

The Inazuma on the other hand isn't built for racing. The length and diameter of the cylinders indicate that it was never intended to be a racer but more to be an all round commuter or even baby tourer.

I love the idea of a race track where you could thrash a hired bike but I'd hate to see the indemnity form you'd have to sign before you could hit the track. There is a raceway near-by that does track days during the week that you can race your own street legal car on, as long as it is registered and road-worthy (and pay a fee) you can destroy your own car on their track if you'd like to.

First off I'm keeping the Inazuma! The CBR125 would be a toy to play with. I think your all missing the point: **** $2000 / £1200 / $2000AU **** for a Japanese bike!

Rucifa, we call them waivers here and sometimes you need to sign them to eat a plate of hot wings... it would be a long one and yes you would almost literally sign your life away. I'm sure it’s not that different from what you need to sign to take a street vehicle onto a race track. Most tracks here won't allow vehicles on without roll cages & 5 point seat belts minimum.

The Ninja 250 track in the USA is short and extremely curvy to favor small bikes and to keep the speed down. Using small bikes with relatively low speed & proper gear would reduce the risk of injury significantly but at the end of the day it’s still racing and there are going to be risks.

They go for ~$4500AU around here, that's the CBR125R


The CB125E is pretty cheap at under $2500AU.


I don't think the minister for war and finance would let me get away with having 2 bikes in the garage though.

I believe the regular price is $3750 here, Honda Canada must have a bunch of extra stock.

Sorry mate but I just don't get it, why would you want a 125??? At least get the 250 if anything but even still I think that for your money the Inazuma is the better deal. Plus, I was under the impression that there is no actual performance difference between the Honda 125 CBF or CBR (least that's what I learnt when I looked into it here in Greece) it's just that the CBR is made tostills ore sporty. But even if it does have an enhanced performance now the new model it still is at the end of the day a 125.  what is it that attracts you to the 125 buddy?

Here they are £2500 new, it was what I was looking at before I took a closer look at the inazuma. I can see the attraction as I love small bikes, they're just more fun.
