Even just a mobile friendly theme would be nice, one of those things that detects you're on your phone and gives a stripped down site.

We're aware of Tapatalk but have some issues with it at the moment, mainly around the area of security. Until they are addressed I can't see us implementing it as the site would be at risk of being compromised.

Even just a mobile friendly theme would be nice, one of those things that detects you're on your phone and gives a stripped down site.

That would be our long term preference, however the forum structure is currently held together with "tables". To create a mobile theme the tables would need to be stripped out. I have several colleagues who have attempted this and it's a nightmare to say the least. There is a version being developed but at best it's at the alpha stage and certainly not ready for a production site. When it would be ready I don't know as the issues to be addressed at very complicated, however it is the direction we intend to head in so that the site is easily viewed on any device.

Folk want a simpler version of the site, so they can view it more easily on mobiles, rather than on the pc.

Just think of it in washing machine terms mate...the current site runs like a top of the range hotpoint and has lots of complicated parts, whereas the guys would like a more simple version like a twin tub or even better still a Mangle just for the basics!
