Ha ha Rowell, you haven't met Mobile Phone Mommy in her 4X4 with her 3 fat school kids in the back, on the 1 kilometre journey to school, because its to wet to let the fat fu*k*rs get some exercise by walking.

She'll drive over you because she believes cyclists & bikers are people who are too poor to own a car and should be treated like the peasants they are.

On a different note, I did some riding in Wales a few years ago, to the Dragon Rally. Lovely countryside & lovely people.

It's okay Journeyman  when I was living in England I saw the same thing; 4x4 for the school run I used to walk to school. There was a local bus but my dad told me that god gave me 2 legs for a reason I see the same stupidity now here in Athens as well. Oh and they will run you over for sure but indiscriminately, rich, poor whatever, and they are all out to get you!

I always wear hi viz and a hi viz helmet. This airbag vest is a brilliant idea and I think I will get one.    There is a similar product available for horse riders but this one is a sight cheaper, and the refills MUCH cheaper! So that means I could get twice the use out of it (I ride horses too).
I work in a trauma theatre and that is why I always wear full armour and hi viz no matter how short the journey.
As for it not being cool... Well, to people who say to me in all my yellow glory, "I wouldn't be seen dead in that" my reply is, "that's the idea..."
