Just ordered the Renntec Rear carrier and 28 Ltr Top Box

Well I'm happy it showed up so quickly and was mostly what I expected in the box. I am happy the crash bar has a Suzuki logo on it. I am unhappy they didn't package everything a bit better. The marks on the rack are underneath so you will never see it. I don’t recall where the crash bar was dinged up. Perhaps when I mount it you won’t be able to see the marks either. I was not surprised that it was a little damaged after traveling half way around the world and the box had the sh#t kicked out of it. A little better packaging would have stopped the paint from scratching and most of the dents.
Not so bad… I will take pictures of the damage and see if they will send me some paint or a discount. The store can only do so much to protect their goods and at some point you have to blame the shipping company. After all the box looked like it was drove over by a monster truck!

But damaged goods are the responsibility of the seller to sort out, wherever the damage occurred.

Yeah I know and I used a Visa card so I can always phone Visa and get all my money back because it was damaged. I will try to Email the company and see if they are willing to work something out. If they are completely unreasonable then I might phone Visa and pull the payment.

As you said Andy if the company are willing to be reasonable and give some kind of fair compensation then no need to go to Visa. But if they mess you about then it's pants down time  and  time Visa just gave you a full refund

Exactly! I forgot to mention they also marked the package as a "Gift" so I did not pay duty. Most American companies are unwilling to do this but Chinese companies have no problem screwing the Tax Man!

Here's two pictures of the Renntec rack & box in action.

I went weekend camping and stored my gear in the following way:

- Puncture repair kit, cooking gear & food in the back box.
- Tent, camping stool, sleeping bag, sleeping mat and gortex cover in roll bags on seat.
- Spare clothing, footwear and wash gear in the throw over saddle bags.

I encountered no stability issues on my 100 mile journey and the bike ran well in heavy rain.
