It's probably a 1 in 1000 thing. They may have had some issues in development and they just want to make sure it doesn't come back for anyone. There'd be nothing worse for them then a heap of guys like us all bitching that the tappets ruined the engine in the first 5000 km. It would ruin the reputation of the bike so I guess they just want to be sure.

I agree the oil is the very heart of the engine, replace the filter every time you change the oil :002:

Suzuki aren't alone. I think some Honda's need a valve check at the first service too.

Agree about the oil filter. Ridiculous not to change the filter with he oil.

    hi
at every oil change I change the oil filter also.
with my honda cb 500 x a oil change is necessary only every 12,000 kilometers.
but I will change every year oil and filter.
adjust valves at my honda cb 500 x bj. 2014 for the first time at 24,000 km.
my dog goes with well with my motorcycle.
    greetings from austria

Woof woof  :062: good to still see you on the forum mate. I hope that the cb is running well. I've heard good reports about that particular new 2013 model.  :305:

i look almost every day in the forum, a lot of nice people here
the cb 500 is really an economical and reliable motorcycle.
I'm so already 3000 km driven - without problems.
believe me the 250 inazuma is also a great motorcycle.

Hi  nordlicht, that looks one happy dog  :001:

The makers claim oil will last a lot longer than it once did. On the Triumph, the interval is 6k miles but I still change it every 3k. I've just sold one, with 72k miles on the clock, which is quite a few changes, but it was still running sweet  :028: :002:

Just had 2nd service 5km and the valve clearance was done for the first time. There was need for any adjustment whatsoever.  :062:
