    Shocking Zuma price...

I went with a mate he wanted to buy a new Kawasaki Ninja 300cc bike, of course I had to have a ride on one and wow was it responsive, when I came back to the showroom the salesman tried to get me interested, but I am happy with the Zuma BUT as a matter of interest asked him what he would give me for the Zuma its only 13 months old he went outside and returned offered me £2100 tops bloody hell told him to  :172:  :172:
When I returned home was a bit pissed off so rang another dealer down south and he offered me the same think they are taking the piss or what.

Here in Oz smaller bikes tend to hold their re-sale value quite well as they are learner legal and there is always a market for them.

£2100 is roughly $3,600AUD so a loss of $1,400 on what I paid for mine.
The dealer then has to make a profit on it and why would you by a 2nd hand one when for only a few hundred more you could buy a new one?

I think the price is probably about right but I think we might find that the price doesn't go much lower for a long time (at least here in Australia).

    tbh, I'm not surprised

Some new 'zuma's are going for about £3000
So a dealer couldn't sell even a low mileage one for more than about £2,600
Bearing in mind he has to warranty it, and make a profit, £2,100 sounds about right to me  :002:

Unfortunately that's how it is with dealers they wanna make their cut of it by taking it from yours! You stand more chance getting a better sale price privately.

Looking at it another way, renting a zuma for 25 quid a week sounds a bargain?  :001:

Or only £13 a week if you hang on to it for 3 years and sell it for £1.5k. That's my plan anyway.

Sell it privately and go to the dealership with a fist full of bank notes.
He'll be sure to pour n the free coffee and biscuits then.  :001:

One of the things that has previously put me off buying new vehicles is the immediate depreciation, which technically kicks in as soon as you pull away from the dealers. But I decided on buying a new bike as its a good price and hopefully will last me for many years to come. I could have bought a decent 2nd bike similar price but something bit more flashy, but this is my first bike and I wanna keep it for many years. The thought of buying 2nd hand and then having problems was worrying so here I am with a  :305: one.
