Lowering kit going in on Wednesday

I'm 5'6" (1.67m) in my socks but I can still sit on my 'Zuma with both feet flat on the floor.

Please take out an inch tape. Now extend it 6 inches. Impressed? Well that is how much taller you are then me so of course you can put both feet down flat

Scoot, I shall try that out. I am taking it in next Monday to the dealer about the scratches and I will be asking them why I didn't get the mm required too. Someone must have done something wrong surely! I nhavent even received what was advertised!

Have you tried to see if you can lean it over to get you foot flat on the ground, you may be able to do it. You could also try shifting you position so that you only have half your butt on the seat, so you are sort of half standing half sitting.

That is what I am doing now and it is awkward and dangerous. I don't have enough experience to cope with it. I need to pull up and put at least one foot flat down. That way I am safe.

Its also not getting what I paid for.....

So how much of you foot can you actually get on the ground?

being that its advertised for not one set measurement. there most be some kind of adjustment to it. maybe different position (flipped over/reverse) and also. not to be rude. but how much do you way? at 5 foot. i doubt its much. if you havent change the settings on the rear spring yet you need to address that issue. it should have around 30mm of sag when you sit on it. from memory. anyone want to correct that?

the stock setting is 2 off the highest (stiffest) out of 7. so good chance you can drop it down a bit from that. the seat doesnt have much to it already after looking at adding foam to mine for comfort.

you dont need a full flat foot. but with the bike upright. if your on toes its not ideal. not with a 183kg bike. aim for flat foot with a minor very very minor lean. any more is dangerous as you say.

also. what part of NSW you in? northern? or central.

Hi hun I am 5'5" the setting on my rear suspension is set on one, also you will find that the bike will loosen and drop down a little with use.
I get one foot down not flat but ok I weigh 11 stone I could sort it by eating more pies 
Let me know how you get on when you remove your seat.

I personally wouldn't alter the seat. In your case I would add some crash bars (just in case) and just get "used" being on tip toes (I can only get the balls of my feet on the ground on my VFR800). It's really just a matter of confidence.

When you are out and about you will find lots of bikers cant get both feet down the only bike I could was my Honda Shadow 750 just build up your confidence and you will be fine.
Also try different biker boots they can help.

Update in the saga.....

Powerbronze got back to me....apparently if my front forks have been lowered by 20mm then I have lowered the bike by 30mm and that is all I will get from the 'kit'.

So I shall take it to the seat man on Monday (Friday is public holiday, ANZAC) and see what he thinks.

I just want to get my left foot flat on the ground when my right is on the back brake. If I can do that it will be all good. If not then I will have to put my big girl panties on and get used to just the ball of that foot being on the ground.

I am however about to go online shopping for some shoes that I can wear on the bike....a little bit more sole wont go astray.
