This has been touched on briefly amongst different posts. Thought it was time we had a central topic for it, and if you guys like we can all give regular updates, especially as most if not all of us are past the 1st service and run-in. I'm interested to know what we are all getting. Does this sound like a good idea guys?

Also I would like some advice my friends please...

From my last Fillup I recorded 66mpg, which I think is a bit low? I am wandering if my in-experience as a rider is playing a part? I am usually at between 5-8 thousand revs daily commuting in the city. I don't think I am opening her up too much, but would have expected more? The bike is not at fault obviously so it is something I'm doing. Any thoughts and advice welcomed.

I always got 27-29 km/liter, which translates to 63/68 mpg.
I had these readings riding both for city commuting and open road.

Over the 8 months I've had it mine's gone from 84,82,78,77,76,75,74, to 73 miles / gallon.

That's a rather worrying trend, but there's a few things to bear in mind.

Traffic tends to be worse in winter, so consumption tends to drop.

I'm running an extra tooth on the front sprocket, which should give better consumption, but the milecounter is under reading by about 7% so the mpg is actually a few miles to the gallon better than it looks.

p.s. I'd be wary of taking figures from a single tankful. It's very easy to distort the figure by not filling the tank to exactly the same point. Much better to average over a few tankfuls.

I use a website call fuelly.com to track my mpg and find it pretty cool. You just update it each time you fill up and it will work it all out for you and track things. You can also share your progress on twitter and Facebook if you want.

I,m doing 380 mile commute a week and worked mine out to high 70 s mpg . As you know everything has a bearing on mpg figures , traffic , weather , tyre pressures , how much weight ya carrying , pillion , right hand , etc etc . Any hoo all the best ,

Dear people of the Internet:
A few posts above, I stated my mpg to be around 63-68 mpg, (US gallon = 3.785 lts)
However, if I had used Imperial Gallons (4.54 lts) my mpg would improve to 75-81 mpg

This is 21.7 km/L.  Seems a bit low. How are your driving conditions?
