A few days ago, my brother was reading his V-Strom manual (in Spanish) and whoever translated it, listed the chain as an 'eternal chain' instead of 'endless chain'.

Well... he was all cocky about how his chain would never ever deteriorate.

Modern chains will last well, if regularly cleaned and lubed.
My Sprint did 32 k miles on the original chain - not bad for a bike with 120 bhp to play with

It's an awesome bike, really easy to ride. It comes with a high torque engine that won't rev up too fast. Well thought for a bike that has to be under control in loose terrain. And this doesn't mean its slow or weak in the road. Let's say it's very well balanced.

However, it's not for me, since I am vertically challenged. It's easy to tamper with the rear suspension and the front yokes, but in order to lower her enough to make me feel safe, I'd had to reduce the ground clearance to about 9cm. Too bad.

Well I'm quite tall so think it would be well suited to me. Anyway just a thought for the long term future! In the meantime I'm very much happy with the Inazuma

Keeping to the subject of chains, can I mention that my Inazuma is getting a 3000 mile service this week and since new, I've not had to adjust the chain at all. I keep it well greased, using Putoline spray chain lube and the chain and sprockets are as good as new. I try to use the spray after a ride rather than before, to give the grease a chance to dry, as otherwise it tends to muck up the back wheel.
This is a far cry from the old days of pre "o- ring" chains and big thumping engines, when we has to adjust the chain every few hundred miles!

I Agree Alan, I've done 2400 miles and my chain is about the same as when I got the bike certainly doesn't need adjusting yet. Len

I use Wurth dry lube on mine.

I adjusted it at the 6k mile service for the first time

I regret to have sold

I think I'll switch back to v strom 650

My wife is certainly not for that I once again pay so much money.
