Insurance costs

The problem is of course that insurance is very variable depending on your postcode, I am very fortunate that I live in a rural area.

I'm a new rider (18 months CBT and 3 months full) and I am paying £300 full comp - thought it worthwhile for the first year, although all I get for the extra is accidental damage cover. older rider too, so all in all a bit expensive I thought.
 

Hello, mate, welcome to the forum!  Hopefully the insurance will get a bit better when you've got some 'no claims discount'. As I mentioned earlier, I didn't have any NCD because of the type of policy I've have had recently, and some of the quotes I had for the Inazuma were over £300, and I've been riding for years. Insurance prices are a bit of a joke in the UK, I think they charge whatever they think they can get away with!

When I lived in Joburg (Randburg) I didn't bother with insurance, I just had the third party that comes with the petrol price.

I know what you mean-considering doing the same...... I worked in Randburg a few years ago-our office was in Kensington B,went past there the other day,oh-boy !the CBD is not looking good

Randburg CBD hasn't looked good for many years, such a shame it used to be a very good shopping centre

Mine comes in at A$274, 193Euro or 162quid fully comprehensive.

I'm gonna try the AA next time my bike insurance is due (I have classic insurance). After just receiving my renewal for my car insurance I rung 'em up & got quoted £140 less than my current insurers wanted! Needless to say I've gone with them. It seems a long & good driving record counts for little with some insurers.
