Exhaust question

Hi Everyone,

I recently purchased a midlink pipe and slip on exhaust for my motorcycle from Ali Express. It's only a single pipe, I'm wondering if it will be fine to block of the second exhaust port on the catalytic converter and remove the baffle to help flow.

Has anyone done this mod? Photo attached.

I seem to recall a thread on this very topic somewhere here. My thoughts would be to give it a go but monitor for detrimental effects. If it was me, I'd buy new downpipes and have the additional benefit of running without the cat. This is something I did a few thousand miles ago, albeit with a two into two setup. I recall at the time a small but noticeable bump in power.

Thanks everyone, I've installed it and made a cap to block of the secondary pipe. Seems to be running fine, no power difference (as expected), but sounds nice!

Hey NzInazuma, which exhaust did you exactly buy on Ali Express? Did it fit?

Hey, I got this one. The fitment was perfect, however it didn't come with a cap to block of the second exhaust at the cat as showen in the listing. I tried to communicate this with the seller, but to much of a language barrier, so I just made one.
