    So here's a confession:
Changed the filter, poured in some fresh oil for winter sleep, and topped the final bit from another bottle.
    Woops!
I saw the dirty oil go into the engine and with it went a CHUNK of SLUDGE !!
     #%*@!!!
I won't start the bike 'til spring, so it's not gonna hurt it over the winter, BUT ...
Can I just drain it out in the spring before I ride, or before that, do I need to flush the mother with some magic stuff and refill to ride?
That's what a dingy shed can do for your smarts, eh?
Don't leave old stock in bottles near your changing area. Get it recycled before I get there to help you change your oil.

    OOPS!

I would drain it asap so that it does not have time to settle / harden.

Then I would remove the filter and get some flushing oil and run that through a couple of times before replacing the filter and topping up with the real stuff!

    Merry Christmas.   :168:

Hey! Thanks. I never thought of it hardening. But as you know, it IS winter, I've no shelter, so it'll hafta wait 'til ... riding season. Good advice from you.
