GW 250 F – Faired bike, led bulb with cooling fins
« on: October 04, 2019, 10:43:07 PM »
I noticed that my install left the tail end of the bulb (the cooling fins) open to the elements. Whereas the original bulb install has a rubber skirt that seals tight against the reflector. It does not cover the large cooling fin section. So I returned the bulb.
It may be that the “bare” bike has the same exposure.
How did you protect the bulb from rain when you installed a quartz bulb? I wonder what kind of protection to add after the bulb is installed, so the light connector doesn’t get rusted or shorted by heavy rain or coated in dirt.
Perhaps you’ve had the cooling fins and all exposed for some long time and have had no issues such from dirt and heavy water exposure. If so, tell us of your experience.
Remember mine is in a fairing.
