mc police
« on: July 04, 2019, 02:55:56 PM »
Just been watching some vids of American police riding their bikes around slalom courses.  They are good seeing the size bikes they are riding.
However, when I was taught to ride I was informed that I had to mount/dismount the bike from the left hand side.  Why do they mount/dismount from the right?
Maybe our American friends could answer this.

:164: perhaps it's cos they drive on the right and therefore it's safer to dismount on the pavement side? Or could it be that American Police can't get their right leg over?  :164:

Every bike I've seen has the sidestand on the left, so getting off on the right doesn't seem like too good an idea  :001:

You are right.   :028:  Next time you get off your bike try  the right hand side. Interesting exercise.  :001:

Seeing I brought the subject up I have just tried mounting the bike from the left and dismounting from the right. I found it awkward.

Anyone else like to have a go?  :156:  Try it and pen your comments please.  :211:
