Maintenance before my road trip
« on: May 28, 2019, 02:16:27 PM »
Hey guys. The motorcycle has been doing pretty great since I had that axle nut reinstalled, now I'm looking at an upcoming trip I'm planning of roughly 10,000 miles.

My bike has done 10,000 miles already, and I'm looking at replacing the following things on the bike:
- Brakes
- Brake fluid
- Coolant
- Spark plugs
- Air filter
- Chain
- Chain sprockets, front and rear

Is there anything that I am missing? I've been doing regular oil changes at 3,000-3,500 mile intervals w/ new oil filters every other change. Also, is there anything extra you guys would recommend I take along with me for this trip?

You seem to have everything covered there. I always carry with me a tyre inflator just in case. Other sorts are available  :038:

 "  I'm planning of roughly 10,000 miles. "

Wow - that's some trip, on any bike  :002:

Oil and filter are the obvious ones, missing from that list

By the time mine had totalled 20,000 miles, I'd changed the wheel and steering head bearings.
The o/e wheel bearings in particular are poor quality and are easily replaced with quality sealed items
