Not only do i have the clicking now, but a definite grinding that i have noticed in 1st gear when accelerating  :138: not good!!!

Do you still have specks for those rear bearings (wheel and sprocket)?

I think i will have to remove the rear wheel for a thorough check, also hace a look at the chain.

Sorry, no. I simply ordered them from my Suzuki dealer. They're quite good at getting equivalent bearings, not just o/e

OK, fyi:

Front:
x2 15x42x13mm OEM #: 08123-63027

Rear:
x1 (sprocket): 25x62x17mm OEM #: 09262-25073
x2 (wheel): 17x47x14 OEM #: 08123-63037

For me its much cheaper to source the bearings myself, good quality japanese, than to buy at the dealer. The seals are going to be an issue though.

Just to add another data point : My front wheel bearing went at 10K miles. An M.O.T. failure,
that was  sorted at the shop with an off-the-shelf replacement.
Symptons:  a clunking sound over bumps and even vaguer than usual steering.

I had the same problem, a few weeks ago, the right front wheel bearing was knackered,   bike still under warranty, and only 11000 miles,  my local dealer said it wasn't a covered item, so I replaced  the bearings myself, with original Suzuki bearings and seals costing just over 63 quid !!!

I did the front on mine after I noticed movement in the steering (probs about 15K or thereabouts); I don't remember which side it was.

The sprocket bearing went in spectacular crunching fashion at about 30K.  I found about two ball bearings left, a lot of twisted metal and paste when I went in to sort it all out.

I don't think I've changed the rear wheel bearings so maybe they don't get the same loads on them...  or perhaps it's just luck of the draw!?

In both cases I replaced the bearings but kept the seals as they looked fine.

sounds like mine
The sprocket carrier bearing failed first.
I did all the bearings and seals, while it was apart
