Adjustment of the rear shock suspension

All I can say in my defence is that with our collective knowledge we can overcome or sort out most issues, that is unless we ask Kantara for advice  - anyone know what size holes to drill in the end of an exhaust - I hear it makes the bike sound better

No - clearly any confusion, or error in selecting the suspension setting, (or adding 1+3=4  ) must therefore be OPERATOR ERROR.

O you chappies are a mind of information.  Now do I start all over again?

I would like a softer ride.  So when I set that thingy should the number 3 be looking at me as I look at it from the rear of the bike?

At the moment when I hit a bump in the road of which there are plenty, they are breeding, my asp is way of the saddle and I have to hang on for grim death.

Now once again - from the rear of the bike, look at the adjustor thingy  should I see the figure 3 (three).  And of course which way do I turn it left or right.

Come on chaps my asp is sore with the banging it is getting.lol

Ha Ha diddly da tookadum.  I have not got a drill anymore.  My wife threw it in the bin and now it is somewhere down the dump.  I admit I made a mistake in drilling those holes but now the love of my life is back to sounding normal.  Just like a BON should.  However I do know where there is a BOS which does not sound as good.  Maybe the owner could overcome this and make it sound better.

Now look mzteg you seem to be an intelligent guy going by the posts you have put up.  Please tell me what to do to get a softer ride.  Which way do I turn that thingy left or right?  No fancy words now, we let tookadum use them after all he reads a lot of books on fishing.  Not that has got anything to do with bikes.

However it was very nice of him to put the photo's up showing what he had done.  Looking from the back of the bike it shows 6/7.  All I want is a softer ride and where do I see the figure 3.  I will have to lay down and have another mushroom.  Tayto got any spare have you because I am running out.lol

Silly me, I thought it would be a simple process to do after all the hard work I have put in  - what thanks do I get, zilch, bugger all, none ! 

Right, for the less intelligent people out there, who have never read a fishing book in their lives! 

If you set the adjuster as per the photograph that I ORIGINALLY POSTED, we have all (I think) agreed it will then be set at 4?

All you need to do, and I will keep this simple just like the person having problems! is put your spanner thingy on the adjuster and turn it anti - clockwise 1 x click. Simples!

And just for you Kantara - here is a picture of how mine looks set at notch 3.

O Master of the rod.  Adjust your specs and look at my reply, just under you first set of photo's, and you will see I posted my humble thanks.  Thankyou, thankyou thankyou.  All your hard work has been gratefully received.

Son down here tomorrow so he can get the spanner and sort the  thing out.  However I will explain that it was you who took the trouble and the photo's to show me, brain dead, how to do it.  How ever if I ever hit a bump in the road again and crush my  I will be up to see you even if I am walking rather strangely.

May be worth putting a dab of paint on the adjuster when you get it set so that if you need to make it so it does not crush your tackle you can adjust it one way or the other

   I can see his Mrs running in the shed to dump any paint and brushes that may be about... You should have seen what he done with her nail varnish... Enough said

I have to admit I am getting a little concerned. High heels, Fluffy Slippers and Nail Varnish??   

Some people, South of Bristol,    need to decide if this is the correct forum for their needs! I am sure their are others better suited to this type of attire !
