Dropped mine in this morning. The guy at the counter didn't inspire confidence when he said "it's here to get the humidity settings changed, right".... or something like that. When I corrected him he looked blankly at me and said something like "the boys will have all the details and will sort out".

    What have I done.  :012:

Well I picked it up this arvo and all seems good. No charge and they said they replaced the rear brake switch, so I'm happy.

    Robell,
Don't worry about keeping them warm, I'll get the chicken to sit on them for you :745:

    RoryD,
Did you find anyone closer to your location to do the recall or are you having to travel a fair distance?
Yes; eventually - the local Suzuki franchised CAR dealer  :034:
I tried to get Suzuki UK to agree to a local motorcycle shop doing the work at my cost for the labour (thanks for the suggestion Rucifa) but they didn't  - I'd have to pay for parts too, and the work would never be logged. The girl offered me 20p/mile costs for the 300ml return trip to the franchised dealer but then, all credit to her, she checked with her boss to see if there was any way to avoid the 6hrs or so on the road.  And so it transpired that the local Suzuki car dealer (15mls vs 150mls away!) is authorised to do safety recall work on Suzuki bikes ..... something neither the local bike shop nor the main Suzuki bike dealer were aware of. Parts are on order now.
So worth trying if anyone else has a franchised Suzuki car dealer much closer than a bike dealer.
    - RoryD

Wow - never heard of that before.
I guess Suzuki give specific instructions for recall work, so even a car mechanic should be able to cope  :001:

I received the recall notice a week or so ago but Gwen, my Inazuma, is in winter hibernation at the moment so I checked with my local dealer and they'll have no problem doing the recall work when she goes in for her annual service when the weather warms up next spring and my personal riding season starts...hopefully around April time!...he did say that several other Inazuma riders had been on to check if it was ok to leave the work until the better weather as they weren't using their bikes over the winter either...so I'm not the only 'softy'!  :190:

I have noticed several of the Forum riders have names for their bikes.  At the moment I just call it "Zuma" but it sounds so impersonal.  I will have to think of something better . :465: :172:
