:001: How far out is the speedo now ?

Has anyone with GPS tested the accuracy of the mile-counter, aswell as the speedo ?

100km was around 6k. So od say top speed mau be 160kmh plus. Wont be able to test that anytime soon.

Speedo is out by 10km. So shows 50 when your doing 60. pretty consistent.  Will be looking at things to correct it. Will keep you updated. The bike seems a lot faster though.

This is how the bike should be. I got 60kmh before I topped out first haha. But cruising through the streets at 50km in 4th is good. 5th is around 4k rpm. 6th is a no go. I dont think 6rh now has a use under 70kmh... which is more like most things..  the 39t is from a sv650. I also put a gold series chain in. Looks great.

Good stuff, I'm very interested in how this continues to work out for you...I'm still at running-in speeds but do feel the bike is under geared and wouldn't be surprised if I feel the need to go with this mod' once fully up to speed!

I usually go out to the mountains and the gearing sounds bad idea for me

Yeah, I can see how the lower gearing would work best on mountain roads...there's nothing like that round my way, though.  :002:

well instead of taking the mountains in 4th you drop down to third or 2nd. i tried a few hills today. it was fine. i find i sit in 3rd a lot now. and then 4th. getting onto the motorway up to 5th. and only into 6th once im cruising. also. 6.7krpm for 100kph and 7.4krpm for 110kph. second is tall enough to use around the streets. 3rd just feels a bit better and still has no issues pulling out of corners. you can really pull away in second anymore. and i am using the clutch a LOT more now with pulling away. before i would just let it out.

i am very happy so far. i may even end up keeping this as my commuter for a long while. if anything. 41t rear would still work very well. would keep the nippyness a bit more. although i find you are sitting around the peak torque range more with this gearing. i may at some point change the front back to a 14t just to see how that goes. ill hit the mountains soon.

hey guys thought i would let you know i had a big run down the highway on the weekend. around 40km of highway at 100kmh. with this new gearing it was so nice. i couldnt stand 5 mins on the highway with the stock gearing. but with this i think i will be happy to do some very long trips with it. sitting around 6.5 to 7.0k rpm. you can hear the bike is happier.

7000 rpm gives me about 60 mph cruising I think? Just doing it a little slower. I have noticed there isnt that much difference between 3rd and fourth, anyone else noticed this?
